The all-new Toyota Proace Max is now available, and its design may look familiar due to Toyota’s collaboration with the Stellantis group. This partnership allows Toyota to use the platform from the Fiat Ducato, Citroën Relay, Peugeot Boxer, and Vauxhall Movano. As Toyota’s largest light commercial vehicle, the Proace Max offers both diesel and all-electric power options.
The Proace lineup starts with the Proace City small van and progresses to the Proace mid-size van, including the Hilux pick-up, culminating with the Proace Max. The Proace Max is on sale now, with initial deliveries expected to begin in September.
The diesel version of the Proace Max features a turbocharged 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine producing 138bhp and 350Nm of torque with the six-speed manual transmission, or 280Nm with the eight-speed automatic. All diesel models have a gross vehicle weight of 3.5 tonnes, while the electric variant has a gross vehicle weight of 4.25 tonnes and is eligible for government grants.
The electric Proace Max is equipped with a 110kWh battery, delivering 268bhp and 410Nm of torque. It offers a maximum range of 260 miles and includes three driving modes to balance performance and efficiency. The battery supports a 150kW charging rate, allowing a 0 to 80 percent charge in 55 minutes.
Pricing for the Proace Max starts at £41,580 for the diesel Chassis cab L3. The panel van L2H2 is priced from £43,630, while the larger L3H3 starts at £45,580. The electric Proace Max is available as an L3 Chassis cab from £60,180, or as a panel van in L3H2, L3H3, and L4H3 configurations, ranging from £62,375 to £64,325.
All Proace Max models come in a single trim level, ‘Icon,’ which includes a 10-inch touchscreen with built-in sat-nav, automatic air conditioning, automatic headlights, a reversing camera, and rear parking sensors.
