The all-electric hypercar maker could use Monterey to launch a new version of the Nevera
Rimac Automobili has removed all of its Instagram posts and recently shared a teaser video with the message, “a new storm has swept through.” A representative from Rimac has suggested that there may be an announcement at the upcoming Monterey Car Week on August 12.
Given that the name “Nevera” translates to “short storm” in Croatian, there is speculation that this announcement could involve a new version of the Rimac Nevera. At last year’s Monterey Car Week, Rimac introduced the Nevera Time Attack model, with only 12 units planned and all already spoken for prior to the reveal. As no new Rimac models have been spotted testing recently, it seems plausible that a new variant of the Nevera could be on the horizon.
Rimac Technologies, a sister company to Rimac Automobili, is known for its advancements in electric motor technology and collaborates with many major European car manufacturers. This connection raises the possibility that Rimac could be showcasing new developments or enhancements to the Nevera’s existing quad-motor system, which currently produces 1,888bhp.
To date, just over 50 of the 150 planned Rimac Neveras have been delivered since its launch two years ago. With a high price tag of £2.4 million, Rimac might be introducing limited-edition variants to boost interest and accelerate sales for the remaining units.
