Since unveiling its second model in June 2023, Aehra, the US-Italian luxury electric car brand, has been relatively quiet. The brand has now ended the silence by announcing the name of its new sedan model: the Aehra Estasi.
Joining the previously named Aehra Impeto SUV, the Estasi is an all-electric four-door saloon designed to compete with high-end models like the Mercedes EQS, Audi e-tron GT, Lotus Emeya, BMW i7, and Porsche Taycan.
The name “Estasi” is derived from the term “ectasis,” which refers to an intense sense of rapture from the appreciation of beauty. Along with the name reveal, Aehra has shared some technical details about the Estasi.
The Estasi is expected to offer a range of 497 miles, just short of the Mercedes EQS 450+’s 511-mile range. Both the Estasi and the Impeto use the same platform, featuring a 120kWh battery and a triple-motor setup delivering 805 horsepower. The car is aimed at achieving a 0 to 62 mph time of under three seconds and a top speed of 161 mph. It is also anticipated to support 350kW fast charging, with a 10 to 80 percent charge taking approximately 15 minutes.
Measuring 5,060mm in length, 2,000mm in width, and 1,450mm in height, the Aehra Estasi is comparable in size to its competitors, weighing around 2,200kg. The Estasi distinguishes itself with its unique four top-hinged ‘falcon’ doors, similar to those on the SUV model. It will be a dedicated four-seater, featuring a large, full-width screen on the dashboard that Aehra claims can be extended when the car is parked. The infotainment system will be proprietary to Aehra, complemented by a lower screen for climate control and other functions.
The design of the Estasi echoes that of the SUV, with a cab-forward profile, smooth surfaces, and prominent front and rear haunches.
Both the Estasi and the Impeto are scheduled for release by 2026, aided by a partnership with Austrian battery supplier Miba.
