The new Volvo EX30 Core is priced at £32,850, positioning it as a competitively priced alternative to the Kia EV3.

The introduction of this new base-spec EX30 reduces the starting price of the premium electric crossover by over £2,000 compared to the higher trim levels.

The Volvo EX30 is now available to order in a new ‘Core’ trim, reducing its starting price to £32,850—a drop of over £2,000. This price adjustment coincides with the launch of the rival Kia EV3, which starts at £32,995.

The EX30 Core offers two powertrain options. The base model features a 51kWh battery providing a range of 209 miles, while for an additional £4,200, the ‘Single Motor Extended Range’ variant comes with a 69kWh battery and a range of 295 miles. Both versions are equipped with a 268bhp electric motor driving the rear wheels.

In comparison, the base Kia EV3 has a range of 267 miles with its 58.3kWh battery, and models with an 81.4kWh battery offer up to 372 miles. Long-range versions of the EV3 are priced below £35,000, while the comparable EX30 starts at over £37,000.

The Core trim includes features such as automatic LED headlights with active high beam, 18-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, and a soundbar across the dashboard. It also comes with a 12.3-inch touchscreen that integrates Google apps and services.

As expected from Volvo, the EX30 is equipped with numerous safety features and driver assistance technologies, including adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, and a collision avoidance system. The Single Motor Extended Range model also includes an energy-efficient heat pump to help maintain range in colder weather.

Customer deliveries for the Volvo EX30 Core are anticipated to start in early 2025.
